Deep in the heart of the Appalachian foothills, brews a bourbon-soaked hoedown called The BBP. The Boro Boogie Pickers evolved from countless conversations about starting a bluegrassy string band project with some long-time friends and natives of Waynesboro. Well, we stopped talking and started playing. The spirit and the idea of the band remain true, "loose old-timey music".
Yes, the name is catchy and so is the music. After several shows the band realized they were onto something and cut their freshman album. The debut album, "Barn and Raised", was released in August of 2007. It is a compilation of catchy originals. The band consists of lifelong friendships that have often crossed paths in various acts from the tri-state area. A majority of them have played together for a number of years. They are happy to have experienced different musical opportunities individually, but are even more happy to join forces as The Boro Boogie Pickers.
The BBP are grateful for all the support! The band is excited to reach many new fans and introduce them to the BBP family!
